Mk 9:42-50Causing to Stumble
42 “If anyone causes one of these little ones—those who believe in me—to stumble, it would be better for them if a large millstone were hung around their neck and they were thrown into the sea. 43 If your hand causes you to stumble, cut it off. It is better for you to enter life maimed than with two hands to go into hell, where the fire never goes out. [44] 45 And if your foot causes you to stumble, cut it off. It is better for you to enter life crippled than to have two feet and be thrown into hell. [46] 47 And if your eye causes you to stumble, pluck it out. It is better for you to enter the kingdom of God with one eye than to have two eyes and be thrown into hell, 48 where“‘the worms that eat them do not die,
and the fire is not quenched.’49 Everyone will be salted with fire. 50 “Salt is good, but if it loses its saltiness, how can you make it salty again? Have salt among yourselves, and be at peace with each other.”

Today at Gungahlin Uniting Church
Welcome to everyone who is with us today as we come together to worship God. Everyone is welcome as we seek to be an expression of the breadth of God’s love for all humanity. At Gungahlin Uniting we usually share morning tea in the middle of worship. After this in the worship space, there is an activity for the Oasis group, (Primary aged), and a message from Proverbs and the Gospel of Mark.
Angel Tree Helper
For the past three Christmas periods, Gungahlin Uniting Church has been involved with Angel Tree, which organises a gift to be bought for a child of a prison inmate. The prison inmate indicates what they would like to give to their children, we buy it on their behalf and then we deliver it to the family in the week before Christmas. Often it is a grandmother or a single mother caring for the children, so last year we also organised a small gift of a Christmas cake and some soaps for them too.
Jenelle Martin who organised Angel Tree last year for our congregation is looking for a helper. This person would help wrap the gifts and deliver them. If you would be willing to help please speak with Jenelle (62554006).

Today at Gungahlin Uniting Church
Welcome to everyone who is with us for worship today; may it be a time of faithful encouragement. At Gungahlin Uniting we usually share morning tea together in the middle of worship. Today our youth meet with the Minister in the first half of worship, then after Morning Tea, Oasis for our primary aged children meets in the courtyard rooms at the end of the passage. Younger children are part of the delight of our church and if you wish there are some activates for them near the big windows.
Mustard Seed Uniting Food Pantry
Last Sunday at our congregational meeting we were given a few different names and variations of those names as suggestions for our Food Pantry. The name that was strongly supported as a first choice or second choice was The Mustard Seed Uniting Food Pantry. From little things, big things grow!
