What is the basket we bring forward each week as part of our offering?
The congregation at Gungahlin Uniting has throughout its life had a basket where members can bring and leave food each week. Food that fills the basket is taken to our Food Pantry where customers come each week to get groceries. We bring the basket forward each week because the food we bring is part of our offering and part of our work as a church. Please remember the basket when you are doing your own grocery shopping. Tins of food and fruit are always best along with other non-perishable items and toilet paper.
The annual weekend for Kairos Outside for Women (KOW) is happening this weekend. Our own Margaret Reeson is there as a leader. Please pray for Margaret, the other leaders and the women who are attending. KOW is a Christian ministry for women who have been impacted by having someone close to them who has spent time in jail. These may be mothers or sisters, wives, girl friends or daughters, and each of them has struggled with what this has meant for their family.
Inviting you to think about our own church community, the wider church, the world!

Bible Readings
Isaiah 5:1-7; Psalm 80:1-2,8-19
Hebrews 11:29-12:2; Luke 12:49-56
This Sunday we gather at 9.30am for all age worship. This week worship is all together with communion to which everyone is invited. We will be pondering “times and seasons” based on Luke 12: 49-56. Following worship we share in morning tea with a BBQ!
We are a community on a journey, we’ve grown from a small faith community planted in Ngunnawal in the early years of Gungahlin’s development to a thriving inclusive, intergenerational & multicultural community. As Gungahlin has grown we have seen a lot of change.
We are an open and inclusive community, everyone is welcome to use their gifts in worship, prayer, leadership, hospitality and teaching.

Worship is for all ages, (0 to 93!) and seeks to be meaningful in different ways for us all.
In Jesus Christ we see how he drew near to each and all and so we hope our worship expresses this nearness too.
We worship at the Gungahlin Uniting Church & Community Centre.
