This week’s scripture reflection is from the gospel according to John.
What would you ask Jesus if he appeared to you?
This week’s Home Brewed Worship provides you all a number of ways to enter into prayer and to explore the Gospel story. If you’re at home with family, a partner, a friend or a spouse please consider working through some of this with them. If you’re alone, consider phoning someone else and inviting them to join you in worship.
Carve out some space sacred space in your home, perhaps you have candle, some colourful material, a cross, a bible, some pictures of the world, artwork or images of Jesus…
Maybe you’d like to send us a photo of how or where you’re worshipping this Sunday?
You don’t need to use all of this material, nor do you need to do it all in one sitting, perhaps some of these prayers and music can travel with you throughout the week.
*Some people have requested a formal order of service as a guide to use this material at home. Access a formal order here.

Ngaire has recorded herself playing the song Breathe, a song that we sing at GUC, the music can be found here.
We’ve made a playlist of songs that link with this weeks scripture readings here.
This week we’ve created two videos to guide you in breathing exercises, both inviting you to spend time noticing your breath and reflecting on the story of Jesus appearing to the disciples from the book of John.
Why not spend some time praying the scripture?
Here are two ways for you to enter the text in prayerful ways.

I thought I would try something different today.
you know – be strong and not let the world get me down.
I’ll stand my ground and not get pushed about.
I thought I would try something different today.
you know what I mean – find my voice and name the issue.
I’ll sing my way through the day rather than remain silent.
I thought I would try something different today.
you know – change my sense of powerlessness into power.
I’ll believe in myself, be kind to me and I will love me.
I thought I would try something different today.
you know what I mean – I’ll take the risk to trust.
Trust myself, trust the process, and trust God.
I thought I would try something different today.
you know – take a deep breath, and let my heart feel.
I’ll reach out and touch the face of God.
God of the known and unknown, the seen and unseen.
we are always in your presence
in our waking, and in our sleeping
in our playing, and in our working
in our despair, and in our hope
in our pain and in our joy.
Nothing escapes your attention.
Hear the cries of the powerless and offer them hope
Give them strength to continue the journey of life
Open the eyes of the powerful
so that they see the injustice and pain they precipitate
Invite us all to share the possibilities of life
Possibilities of inclusion, mutuality,
reciprocity, respect, safety and love.
The whole of humanity waits expectantly,
whether we know it or not.
We are a community on a journey, we’ve grown from a small faith community planted in Ngunnawal in the early years of Gungahlin’s development to a thriving inclusive, intergenerational & multicultural community. As Gungahlin has grown we have seen a lot of change.
We are an open and inclusive community, everyone is welcome to use their gifts in worship, prayer, leadership, hospitality and teaching.

Worship is for all ages, (0 to 93!) and seeks to be meaningful in different ways for us all.
In Jesus Christ we see how he drew near to each and all and so we hope our worship expresses this nearness too.
We worship at the Gungahlin Uniting Church & Community Centre.
