Today at Gungahlin Uniting Church
Welcome to everyone who is with us for worship today. We seek to be an inclusive Christian community for all people. Today we have morning tea in the middle of worship followed by our different groups. There is Oasis for the primary aged children which meets in the courtyard rooms at the end of the corridor. There is Billabong for our High school and youth which meets in the quiet room off the foyer. There is also a message with readings and song back in the worship space.
Today – Congregational Meeting
Following worship today we have an important congregational meeting to which you are invited even if you just want to hear some of the news and information on our church. Congregational meetings at Gungahlin Uniting are about making important decisions through conversation and consensus. Today we will hear from our treasurer as we affirm the budget for 2012/13. We will also make some important decisions on the food pantry around our plans to go ahead, plans for the store and expenditure on this mission.
New Arrival!
Congratulations Grandma Shirley on the birth of your grandson, Corby Evan Williams. Andrea and Simon are the proud parents of a beautiful baby boy who was born on the 14th of August. Thanks to the good Lord for his safe arrival.
New Gungahlin Uniting Directory
Over the past weeks all your details for the new directory have been in the foyer. We need you to look over your details, correct, add, change…. Then sign so that we know we have your permission to include your name in the directory. When the directory is finally done it will be available online (to members only), by email and also in the good old fashioned way of ink on paper.
With Love to the World
The latest edition of With Love to the World is available today in the foyer. With Love to the World is a daily devotional guide produced by the Uniting Church. Each day has a short reading, reflection and prayer guide. Copies are just $4 and are available in the foyer.
Black Stump
Black Stump is a Christian music festival held each year at Cataract Park just outside of Sydney. There is music of all types, speakers, stalls, good food and coffee. This year a good number from Gungahlin Uniting are going; Rowan & Margaret Ford, The Warren Family, Alison and John McKenzie, the Faulkner Family, with some other possible families from our church and beyond. If you would like to come along, speak with someone who is going for more information. It really is a relaxing, music filled, healthy weekend away held from 28-30th. September.
