Welcome to Gungahlin Uniting Church
When you arrive at a new church it can be overwhelming and things a little uncertain, but everyone is welcome in this Christian Community. This is not something we just say, but a way that we try to live out. Today in the first part of worship our Billabong (youth) will meet with our Minister Mark while worship is led by Pam Thompson. We usually have morning tea in the middle of worship, which is then followed by Oasis (for Primary aged children) in the courtyard rooms and in the main worship space a message from our Minister.
Everything in Common Gift Table
There are many ways we can give something to those in need at Christmas. One way is by buying a ‘gift’ that will go to help people overseas through Uniting World. Visit the Gift Table today to see some of the possibilities. Some people buy one of these ‘gifts’ to give to someone who already has enough stuff but will be glad to support someone in need. Others buy a gift as a donation of love, so that their Christmas joy is shared with people who have very little. Talk to Margaret for more information.
Singing Group
Thank you to everyone who is singing with our Singing Group for Christmas Services. There is always room for more singers, so join us near the piano after church if you like. Margaret can give you the music.
Daily Advent readings @ Gungahlin Uniting
Today is the first Sunday in Advent. Advent is a time of waiting and reflection leading up to Christmas and the celebration of the birth of Jesus. This year our Minister Mark has prepared a booklet with a reading and short prayer/comment for each day in Advent. These are available today and you are encouraged to take one and use it as part of your days throughout Advent.
Perspective Magazine
The latest issue of Perspective is available in the foyer. Perspective is published by the Uniting Church Presbytery (the Uniting Church in this region) and tells us about things other churches close by are doing.
