Welcome to Gungahlin Uniting Church
When you arrive at a new church it can be overwhelming and things a little uncertain, but everyone is welcome in this Christian Community. This is not something we just say, but a way that we try to live out. Today in the first part of worship our Billabong (youth) will meet with our Minister Mark while worship is led by Brett Marshall. We usually have morning tea in the middle of worship, which is then followed by Oasis (for Primary aged children) in the courtyard rooms and in the main worship space we continue to hear about our life and faith journeys.
Lent at Gungahlin Uniting Church
Lent is a time of 40 days before Easter and is part of the church throughout the world. In lent we reflect on the journey of Jesus towards the cross and it is a time for us to ponder our journeys and faith.
This year Lent began on 5th. March, which is called Ash Wednesday. Each Sunday in Lent we will have a member of the congregation share a little of their life and faith journey. This is an opportunity for us to acknowledge that the Christian walk takes many paths and that faith weaves throughout all things. At the end of Lent we have Easter Thursday, Good Friday and Easter Sunday. I hope you will join us for the journey.

First Sunday Converse and Café…
Come along for a simple time of Christian community followed by a bite to eat at a local café or restaurant. 6-7.30pm tonight here at GUC! No Singing. No Sermon. No Pressure. No Patter.
Gungahlin Uniting International Food Lunch
On the 2nd. Sunday of each month we have a light BBQ lunch, but next 2nd Sunday (13th. April) we will have an international food lunch! Instead of the usual BBQ you are invited to bring along something to share for lunch and in particular, a plate of food from the country you come from. Please plan to come along and share in this community time together. Drinks will be provided. If your food requires forks and plates, then please don’t worry, we have plenty of those too!
Oasis Leaders Needed
Oasis is our primary aged group and we are in need of a key leader for terms 2 and 4 this year. Oasis meets after morning tea on most Sunday’s and material for the group and activities is supplied. This is an important part of the life of our church and you are being asked to consider if this is one way that you could serve. The leader would need to have been a part of the life of our church for a reasonable period of time and also have their Working With Vulnerable People licence. If you are interested please speak with Rev. Mark.
