Thinking he was the gardener, she said, “Sir, if you have carried him away, tell me where you have put him, and I will get him.” 16 Jesus said to her, “Mary.” She turned toward him and cried out in Aramaic, “Rabboni!” (which means “Teacher”).
The passage above is from the resurrection account in John. Mary, seeing the body of Jesus gone, doesn’t recognise Jesus when she finally sees him because she thinks he is the gardener.
As part of our Food Garden work, we have talked about employing a “Gardener”. The Gardener will look after our church grounds and also help take care of our Food Garden.
We hope this position will encourage and offer hope. It is intended for a refugee, unemployed or underemployed person. Initially the work is for six hours per week.
Members of the congregation are being asked to consider supporting this opportunity by making a small weekly donation if you feel able.
Can you make a weekly donation?
