Hello Friends,
On Thursday 23rd I met with the Church Council and Sunday 26th I announced to the congregation that I have been asked to take on another position within the life of the Uniting Church, which I have accepted. This means that I will be leaving Gungahlin Uniting by the middle of the year. This has not been an easy time for me personally as I have thought through this change, but I do sense there is something of God in the road that lies ahead. The new position I have been asked to fill is to establish a team who will work creatively with the many rural congregations and Christian communities who have no strong leadership or Ministry at this time.
My time at Gungahlin has been a truly wonderful time of Ministry and life and the breadth, harmony, faithfulness and gifts of the congregation will mean a continued growing walk and Christian witness in the years ahead.
The Church Council along with the Canberra Region Presbytery will work together with the congregation in ensuring the future is encouraging and that new leadership is found.
Of course if you have any questions then you are welcome to talk to our Church Council Chairperson, Chris Dodd, or myself.
Peace to us all.
