Greetings to the Gungahlin Uniting community
This coming Sunday reminds us that we celebrate endings (e.g. the Christian year) as we get ready to celebrate beginnings (Advent and the Birth of Jesus). This Sunday is known as “Christ the King” Sunday – when we recall the good news that Jesus reigns in our hearts and in the world as the servant king. No better way than to finish the “year” with another parable (the separation of the sheep and goats) where the nations are called to account to a God of love.
During the morning tea break our creative YARNSTERS will have a stall – be well prepared!
After morning tea we regather. Billabong members meet with mentors and Oasis gathers the children of the congregation.
Next Sunday we move into the Advent Season and our worship themes over the four Sunday will be Hope, Joy, Peace and Love. Make sure you pick up your “Reflections for Advent 2017”and note the invitation to participate in a series of group reflections commencing Monday 4th December from 7pm at the church.
Both our Boys and Girls Brigades have finished for a good year – well done all of you, members and our intrepid leaders!
Grace and Peace
Jonathan
