Last Sunday morning Margaret Reeson reported on the devastating 7.5 Richter scale earthquake which recently hit PNG, particularly the Southern Highlands, including Mendi, Nipa and Tari where Ron and Margaret worked in the 60’s and 70’s with the United Church of PNG (a partner church of the Uniting Church in Australia)
The Uniting Church has, through its overseas division UnitingWorld, launched an appeal for funds to support the recovery efforts. It appears that many United Church folk are actively involved in providing assistance to those in their community with special needs.
Details as to how you could donate to the Appeal can be found at Papua New Guinea Earthquake Appeal. It is also on the UnitingWorld Facebook page.
If it is more convenient you can give cheques (to UnitingWorld) or cash to Ron or Margaret and they will ensure it goes to UnitingWorld.
