This week at Gungahlin Uniting…
Today is the 2nd. Sunday of the month. This means that today we all stay together as one congregation for the whole of worship. We also share in communion; (the bread and wine as Jesus shared with his disciples at the Last Supper). Everyone who is with us today is welcome to come forward and received the bread and wine as an expression of their faith. Following worship we have morning tea and a light BBQ lunch – Please stay and join with us!
Sunday Evenings in Lent @ Gungahlin Uniting.
The first Sunday in Lent is 26th. February. Lent is the period of 40 days before Easter. Throughout Lent, each Sunday you are invited to a Bible Conversation in which we will simply discuss the Gospel reading for that Sunday. The Bible Conversation is from 5-6pm. Following this, if you wish, please stay for sandwiches and a cup of tea – please bring a plate if you are able. Then from 7-8pm there will be a new opportunity to worship in a creative, contemporary, informal way. Worship will be on the Sunday’s of 26th. February, 11th, 18th, 25th. March. Everyone is welcome.
Ash Wednesday
Ash Wednesday is the first day of Lent (Wednesday 22nd February.) Traditionally in the church, Ash Wednesday has been a day of reflection and confession as it begins the time before Easter when we remember Jesus drawing closer to his own death on the cross. On Ash Wednesday, at 10am., I will hold a meditative service with communion for anyone who would like to come along. Again, anyone can come along and is welcome! If you have any questions about Ash Wednesday or Lent please feel free to speak with Mark.

Today marks the beginning for Oasis in 2012. Jenelle Martin will be taking Oasis for the first term and our unit is entitled ‘The Bible’.
